Cows at Dunquin, Co Kerry
26th July 2011

Although I've taken many pictures of the new baby, this is the first landscape photograph I've taken in a very long time. If two kids make it difficult to get out and shoot, three make it nearly impossible! Last week, I headed off to Dingle with the family for a summer holiday. One night, after the kids were tucked up in bed, I headed off to capture the evening light around Slea Head.
Just before I reached Dunquin, I noticed these cows perched on the hillside, with the village of Dunquin in dappled sunlight behind them. So, I climbed the grassy berm beside the field and hung on to a fencepost with my tripod. The cows weren't at all interested. The light on the village in the distance was particularly good, I think.
